Eastern Kentucky country vocalist Tristen Moore has officially entered the 2026 Small Town America Festival Talent Contest, hoping to earn a place among the competition's five finalists.

The contest begins with performers submitting an application and audition video for review by festival organizers. After evaluating the entries, judges will select the Top Five finalists, who will compete live during the Small Town America Festival in Mt. Sterling on August 9, 2026.

For his audition, Moore submitted a live performance of "Traveling Soldier," recorded during the 2026 Blackberry Ramble Festival in Olive Hill. The performance showcases his traditional country vocals and stage presence before a live audience.

"Tristen has worked hard to develop his own style while staying true to the traditional country sound that so many people still appreciate," said Joe Clark, Moore's artist representative. "We're honored to submit his entry and are excited about the opportunity to have him considered for this year's finals. We believe he'll represent Eastern Kentucky well if selected."

Although still early in his career, Moore has become a familiar face at festivals and community events throughout the region. His performances feature a blend of classic and contemporary country music, delivered with a straightforward style that has earned him a growing following.

The Small Town America Festival Talent Contest has become a popular showcase for emerging artists from across Kentucky and surrounding states, giving finalists the opportunity to perform before festival audiences and gain additional exposure.

Festival officials are expected to announce the five finalists prior to the August 9 competition.

The Morehead Minute will continue to follow the contest and provide updates as finalists are announced.
