Authorities are investigating a death in the Clearfield area of Rowan County after emergency responders discovered a man deceased inside a residence on McBrayer Road.
According to Kentucky State Police, the investigation began after a concerned family member contacted authorities requesting a welfare check, stating they had not been able to reach or hear from their cousin for several days.
A Rowan County Deputy Sheriff and Kentucky State Police troopers responded to a mobile home located along McBrayer Road. Upon arriving at the residence, responders located a 72-year-old man deceased inside the home.
The Rowan County Coroner’s Office pronounced the man dead at approximately 8:38 p.m.
Kentucky State Police Sgt. Sam Lawson is leading the investigation. Officials say that, at this time, there are no indications of foul play.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been released pending notification of family members.
Multiple agencies responded to the scene, including the Kentucky State Police, Rowan County Sheriff’s Department, Morehead Fire Department, and the Rowan County Coroner’s Office.
The investigation remains ongoing.
