
LAKE CUMBERLAND, Ky. — Two Bath County High School students capped off an outstanding fishing season by earning top finishes against some of the nation's best high school anglers at two of the sport's premier championships.
Brady Wells and Zeke Brock represented Bath County High School at the Student Angler Federation (SAF) National Championship and the SAF High School Fishing World Finals, held June 24–27 on Lake Cumberland.
The duo placed 11th out of 237 qualifying teams in the SAF National Championship, an event reserved exclusively for teams that earned their way through season-long competition.
Wells and Brock also turned in another impressive performance at the SAF High School Fishing World Finals, finishing 19th out of 411 teams in one of the largest and most competitive high school bass fishing tournaments in the country.
Their strong finishes capped a successful 2025–26 season and placed the Bath County pair among the nation's top high school bass fishing teams.
School officials praised the anglers' dedication, noting that their success reflects countless hours of preparation, practice, and competition. The pair proudly represented Bath County High School and the Commonwealth of Kentucky on one of high school fishing's biggest stages.
With top-20 finishes against hundreds of elite competitors, Wells and Brock closed out their season with accomplishments that highlight both their talent and the continued success of Bath County High School's fishing program.
