WINCHESTER, Ky. — Elvis fans will have an opportunity to enjoy an evening of music, ice cream and nostalgia when award-winning Elvis Tribute Artist Domenic Bernal takes the stage in Winchester for the Winchester Kiwanis Club’s “Dessert with the King” fundraiser.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, August 15, at 6:30 p.m. at the Hannah McClure Cardinal Community Center, 30 Beckner Street in Winchester.

“Dessert with the King” will combine an ice cream social with a live Elvis tribute concert featuring Bernal, along with a silent auction and an opportunity for guests to have their photo taken with “Elvis.”

Admission is $10 per person, while children 5 and under are admitted free.

Bernal has earned a reputation for bringing the music, appearance and stage presence of Elvis Presley to audiences through his performances as an Elvis Tribute Artist.

Morehead Minute Publisher Joe Clark has seen numerous Elvis Tribute Artists over the years, both professionally and as a fan, and says Bernal stands apart.

“I’ve worked in the Elvis Tribute Artist world as a promoter, support staff and, of course, as a lifelong Elvis fan. I’ve seen a lot of talented performers over the years, but Domenic Bernal is the closest thing to the real Elvis that I have seen in years. If you’re an Elvis fan and have an opportunity to see Domenic perform, you owe it to yourself to see his show.”

The fundraiser will also give fans an opportunity to experience some of the atmosphere associated with the King of Rock ’n’ Roll while helping support a community cause.

According to event organizers, all proceeds from Dessert with the King will support the Winchester Kiwanis Club’s “Walk With a Child” event.

For Elvis fans in Morehead and the surrounding region, Winchester is close enough for an evening road trip — and the combination of a live tribute performance, ice cream and a good cause could make this one worth the drive.
