A Fleming County man has been sentenced to prison following an investigation involving allegations of sexual abuse against a juvenile.

According to information released Friday by the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office for Fleming, Mason, and Bracken counties, Aiden Sayer was sentenced on May 15 to 15 years in prison after being convicted in connection with sexual conduct involving a 12-year-old victim.

Authorities said the investigation was led by Fleming County Sheriff Tim Smith, with assistance from the Kentucky State Police and additional law enforcement agencies in Mississippi. The case reportedly began after officials received a complaint alleging abuse involving the defendant and a juvenile victim.

Investigators executed multiple search warrants during the case and conducted a forensic examination of Snapchat accounts and other social media evidence as they worked to determine whether additional victims may have been involved.

As part of the sentence, Sayer will be required to complete the Sex Offender Treatment Program while incarcerated and will be subject to lifetime sex offender registration upon release.

Officials also noted that the victim’s family was consulted prior to the resolution of the case.
