A Fleming County man who was already listed as a registered sex offender has been sentenced to a decade in prison following an investigation involving the Fleming County Sheriff's Office, Kentucky State Police, and prosecutors with the Commonwealth's Attorney's Office.
According to information released by the Commonwealth's Attorney's Office, authorities received a tip in February 2025 regarding Timothy McCord. The complaint prompted an investigation that was initially handled by the Fleming County Sheriff's Office before being turned over to Kentucky State Police Post 8, where Trooper Marvin Morris led the case.
Officials said the investigation included extensive digital forensic work and ultimately resulted in McCord being charged and prosecuted. In May 2026, he was sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to a single count of incest. Prosecutors stated that investigators obtained incriminating video evidence involving an adult victim.
The Commonwealth's Attorney's Office noted that the resolution of the case spared the victim from having to testify in court. Prosecutors said the victim approved the plea agreement reached in the case.
As part of his sentence, McCord must complete Kentucky's sex offender treatment program before he can be considered for parole. Officials indicated he is expected to serve at least several more years in custody and will remain a registered sex offender for life.
The case was investigated by the Fleming County Sheriff's Office and Kentucky State Police Post 8, with assistance from digital forensic investigators and prosecutors.
Editor's Note: A criminal conviction indicates the court has found the defendant guilty or the defendant has entered a guilty plea. Court records should be consulted for complete details regarding sentencing and parole eligibility.
