
MOREHEAD, Ky. — Rowan County Middle School recently celebrated the careers and contributions of four longtime educators whose service has helped shape generations of students and families throughout the community.
During a special recognition ceremony, school officials honored Principal Melissa Lewis, Counselor Nicole Powell, Instructional Coach Christie Tackett, and Art Teacher Henry Parsons as they prepare to begin retirement.
According to Rowan County Middle School, the four educators have collectively dedicated years of leadership, guidance, instruction, and support to students, staff, and families. Their influence extends far beyond the classroom, helping to build the culture and success of the school over many years.
School leaders noted that each retiree played a unique role in the development of Rowan County Middle School. From administration and student counseling to instructional support and arts education, their efforts helped create an environment where students could learn, grow, and succeed.
In a statement shared by the school, Rowan County Middle School expressed gratitude for the retirees' commitment and service, saying their impact "will be felt for generations" and helped shape the RCMS community into what it is today.
As they close this chapter of their professional careers, the school wished each retiree happiness, new adventures, and lasting memories in retirement.
