MOREHEAD, Ky. — Game Warden Tim Brett with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources has been named the American Legion Post 126 Law Enforcement Officer of the Year for 2026, recognizing his dedication to public service and commitment to the community.

Brett, a graduate of Morehead State University, began his career in public service as a volunteer with the Morehead Fire Department. He has served as a conservation officer for more than eight years, earning recognition along the way for lifesaving efforts and search-and-rescue operations.

In addition to his duties as a game warden, Brett holds multiple specialized certifications. He is a trained rescue diver, firearms instructor, and water survival instructor, among other advanced qualifications.

Beyond his professional work, Brett remains active in the community. He and his wife, Hillary, have three children, and he is involved in their activities, including coaching youth baseball and participating in scouting programs.

Brett will be formally recognized during the Memorial Day ceremony at 9 a.m. on May 25 at Freedom Park, just prior to the annual parade.
