LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Gov. Andy Beshear has announced three new appointments to the Kentucky State Fair Board, including his former senior advisor, Elliott County native Rocky Adkins.
Adkins, who recently stepped down from his role in the governor's administration, was selected to fill the seat previously held by Michael Berry, who resigned from the board. His appointment will run through the remainder of the current term, which expires on June 28, 2029.
A native of Catlettsburg, Adkins is a former member of the Kentucky House of Representatives and has served in several leadership roles within state government. Following Adkins' departure from the administration earlier this month, Gov. Beshear praised his longtime advisor for his leadership and contributions to Team Kentucky.
The governor also appointed Brent Tolle of Taylorsville and Jimmy England of Hardyville to the State Fair Board.
Tolle is a cattle farmer and works as a senior sales representative for Boehringer Ingelheim. His appointment extends through July 16, 2028.
England serves as president of the Hart County Fair Board. He will also serve a term ending July 16, 2028.
The Kentucky State Fair Board oversees operations and long-term planning for the Kentucky State Fair, the Kentucky Exposition Center, and other state-owned fair and exhibition facilities.
These appointments are subject to the standard terms established for members of the board.
