HALDEMAN, Ky. — A local effort is underway to preserve a piece of northeastern Kentucky history, and community members are being asked to lend a hand.

A fundraising campaign has been launched to support the ongoing restoration of the Haldeman Museum, a project dedicated to preserving the heritage and stories of the Haldeman community and surrounding area.

Organizers say significant progress has already been made on the historic building. According to information provided through the fundraiser, new windows have been installed, custom doors have been built and installed, roof insulation has been completed, and electrical work has been added.

However, several important phases of the project remain before the museum can be fully completed and opened to visitors.

Upcoming work includes:

  • Installation of heating and cooling systems

  • Ceiling construction and finishing

  • Floor painting

  • Brick chinking and restoration

  • Interior and exterior brick sealing

  • Lighting installation

  • Museum displays and exhibits

  • Additional finishing work throughout the facility

Fundraiser organizers say every contribution, regardless of size, will help move the project closer to completion.

The campaign's slogan, "Help us rebuild Haldeman's Legacy... one brick at a time!", reflects the mission of preserving local history for future generations.

Historic museums often serve as more than just repositories of artifacts. They provide communities with a place to remember local traditions, document family histories, and educate younger generations about the people and events that shaped the region.

Those interested in supporting the restoration effort can contribute through the museum's fundraising campaign. Organizers say donations ranging from a few dollars to larger gifts are welcome and appreciated.

As work continues, supporters hope the completed museum will become a lasting tribute to the rich history of Haldeman and the surrounding communities of Rowan County.
