On May 22, 2026, The Morehead Minute reported on allegations from former workers who claimed they experienced delayed or unpaid compensation while working for Federated Global Ventures LLC, a Lexington-based security company.

Now, the Kentucky Education and Labor Cabinet has confirmed to The Morehead Minute that the Division of Wages and Hours has opened an investigation into the company following multiple employee compensation complaints.

In a statement provided to The Morehead Minute, the Cabinet stated:

“The Division of Wages and Hours has opened an investigation into Federated Global Ventures LLC after receiving multiple complaints from employees regarding compensation. The investigation is ongoing.”

The confirmation follows recent reports from former workers who alleged they were owed significant amounts of pay, with some claiming financial hardship as a result. WKYT also recently covered the developing situation.

Federated Global Ventures has previously stated that many of its workers are classified as independent contractors under IRS Form 1099 arrangements rather than traditional employees. The company also stated that contractor payment windows of up to 90 days are “not uncommon” and that it remains committed to complying with all applicable federal and state laws.

At this time, no findings or conclusions have been announced by state investigators.
