Families across Northeastern Kentucky still have time to apply for this year’s Kentucky State Police Trooper Island Camp program, according to a recent announcement from Kentucky State Police Post 8.
The summer camp, operated through Trooper Island Camp, Inc., is scheduled for July 13–17 and is designed for underprivileged children between the ages of 10 and 12 who may not otherwise have the opportunity to attend summer camp.
KSP Post 8 officials say children living in Bath, Elliott, Fleming, Lewis, Mason, Menifee, Montgomery, Morgan, Powell, and Rowan counties are eligible to apply.
Located on Dale Hollow Lake in southern Kentucky, Trooper Island Camp has served Kentucky children for decades, offering outdoor recreation, swimming, boating, educational activities, and opportunities for personal growth in a safe environment supervised by Kentucky State Troopers and camp staff.
Applications for the 2026 camp season are being handled exclusively online this year.
Parents or guardians interested in applying can learn more through Trooper Island Camp.
Camp organizers encourage families to apply as soon as possible, as available spots are limited each year.
