Olive Hill, KY — A simple idea born from a common frustration is turning into an innovative new business for local entrepreneurs Josh and Christian Baker.

Their company, CoolerRx™, is preparing to officially launch its first product—an effervescent cleaning tablet designed specifically to restore and refresh insulated coolers.

“We can’t count how many times we have seen folks throwing their forgotten coolers away, instead of tackling the cleaning process,” said Christian Baker. “This product takes the scrubbing away and gives you effortless cleaning.”

The Bakers filed a patent for their product in March and held their company’s launch party last Saturday.

The product works by dissolving in water to create a powerful cleaning solution that deodorizes, sanitizes, and cuts through buildup with minimal effort.

“It is an effervescent tablet that cleans coolers and brings them back to life,” Baker said.

Designed for convenience, Baker says the process is intentionally simple. Users fill their cooler with water, drop in two tablets, allow it to sit for 10–15 minutes, then drain and rinse.

CoolerRx™ is believed to be the first product of its kind designed specifically for insulated coolers, setting it apart in a crowded cleaning market.

“There is nothing else like this product on the market. We are the first of its kind tablet specifically designed for insulated coolers,” Baker said.

The tablets feature a specialized blend of cleaning agents, including an enzyme formulated to break down tough organic residue like fish proteins, making them especially appealing to outdoor enthusiasts.

Baker says the product is also environmentally friendly and food-grade safe.

“No one wants to fool with cleaning a cooler after a long day on the lake or one that’s been forgotten in a garage,” Baker said. “This product is so simple to use.”

The idea for CoolerRx™ originated with Josh Baker, but it was Christian who saw its full potential and helped bring it to life.

“My husband, Josh, has many wonderful ideas, but this one caught my eye,” she said. “I decided to put forth my effort and breathe life into his idea. We have always worked well as a team in life and parenting, but this is such an exciting new adventure for us.”

That teamwork—and belief in their concept—recently paid off when the business won the first-ever Carter County Pitch Competition hosted by the Economic & Community Development Institute (ECDI).

“It was the kick start we needed,” Baker said. “Sometimes you just need someone else to believe in you to light the spark that starts the fire.”

The recognition has helped build early momentum, with strong interest already coming from retailers and customers.

“Seeing how excited people are about our product,” Baker said, describing the most rewarding part of the journey so far. “We have had so many folks already make a promise to sell it in their stores and purchase it as soon as it is available.”

CoolerRx™ tablets will retail for approximately $12 for a six-pack and are anticipated to be available for purchase by July 27.

Online availability is anticipated by August.

Looking ahead, the Bakers plan to expand both their distribution and product offerings.

Baker says the experience has been about more than launching a business. She says it’s been deeply personal.

“It has really given me a sense of purpose and excitement in life,” she said. “The fact that we created something that others are excited about is amazing.”
