A fatal heavy equipment accident is under investigation in Bath County after authorities say a bulldozer overturned Saturday morning near Owingsville.
According to a press release issued by Bath County Coroner Andrew Owens, emergency crews were dispatched to Stevens Road at approximately 8:55 a.m. on May 9, 2026, following reports of a dozer accident.
Upon arrival at the scene, responders discovered one individual deceased. The victim was identified as 62-year-old Douglas Wells of Sharpsburg, Kentucky.
Officials said the incident involved heavy equipment that had overturned. No additional details about the circumstances surrounding the accident have been released at this time.
The incident remains under investigation by the Bath County Coroner’s Office and Kentucky State Police Post 8.
