A Mason County man is facing multiple felony charges after being arrested and lodged in the Mason County Detention Center on June 19.

According to jail records, 63-year-old James Darrell Rosser Jr. of Dover, Kentucky, was booked into the detention center at approximately 5:42 p.m. on June 19 by the Mason County Sheriff's Office. Jail records indicate Rosser is charged with three counts of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree involving a victim under 12 years of age.

Court records associated with the case show the charges are pending in Mason County District Court under case number 26-CR-00076. A cash bond of $25,000 has been set, and a court appearance is scheduled for July 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.

According to the detention center records, Rosser was arrested on June 19 by the Mason County Sheriff's Office. The records list him as being 5 feet, 9 inches tall, weighing 205 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes.

Under Kentucky law, first-degree sexual abuse involving a victim younger than 12 years old is a felony offense. The charges against Rosser remain allegations at this stage of the proceedings, and he is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
