FRENCHBURG, Ky. — The Menifee County Sheriff’s Department is adding two new vehicles to its fleet through a joint investment by the City of Frenchburg and Menifee County Fiscal Court.

According to an announcement from the City of Frenchburg, two new 2026 Chevrolet 1500 Police Pursuit Vehicles have arrived and were purchased entirely with alcohol tax revenue.

The City of Frenchburg and Menifee County Fiscal Court split the cost of the two vehicles evenly, with each government covering 50 percent of the purchase.

City officials described the purchase as an investment in public safety while also allowing the sheriff’s department to replace aging, high-mileage vehicles without relying on other local funding sources.

The new Police Pursuit Vehicles also come with manufacturer warranty coverage, which officials said should help reduce maintenance and repair expenses compared with keeping older vehicles in service.

With the new vehicles joining the fleet, the Menifee County Sheriff’s Department will be able to surplus two vehicles that are nearly 15 years old. Both have accumulated well over 100,000 miles.

The purchase represents a cooperative effort between the Menifee County Sheriff’s Department, Menifee County Fiscal Court and City of Frenchburg to use locally generated alcohol tax revenue for law enforcement and public safety needs.
