MENIFEE COUNTY, Ky. — A Menifee County High School soccer player is receiving recognition for his performance on the field and the support he has earned from the community
Jaxen Sorrell, a member of the Menifee County boys soccer team, has been named this week’s “People’s Champ” by the From Corner2Corner Podcast, earning 43.8% of the votes in the weekly competition.
The recognition comes after Sorrell recently transitioned into the goalkeeper position, where he helped lead Menifee County to a shutout victory over Morgan County.
Despite taking on a new role for his team, Sorrell demonstrated his versatility and contributed to an impressive defensive performance that kept Morgan County off the scoreboard.
The weekly People's Champ recognition, presented by Maze Law Offices, PLLC, gives supporters an opportunity to recognize outstanding student-athletes through a public vote.
Sorrell's selection reflects the support he received from fans, classmates, family members, and others who participated in the voting.
The From Corner2Corner Podcast announced the results Thursday, October 8, congratulating Sorrell and thanking everyone who cast a ballot.
The Morehead Minute congratulates Jaxen Sorrell on his recognition and wishes him and the Menifee County boys soccer team continued success.
