MOREHEAD, Ky. — A local business owner has been arrested on animal cruelty-related charges, according to arrest records from the Rowan County Detention Center.
Courtney Barnett, 29, of Morehead, Kentucky, was taken into custody on April 27, 2026, at approximately 12:09 p.m.
According to the arrest information, Barnett faces the following charges:
Torture of a dog or cat
Cruelty to animals, second degree
Barnett is listed as the owner of Courtney Barnett Photography LLC, a local photography business based in Morehead. The business maintains an active presence on social media, where it advertises studio and natural light photography services.
At this time, no additional details regarding the circumstances of the alleged offenses have been released publicly. It is also unclear whether the case involves a single animal or multiple animals.
