SALT LICK, Ky. — A new lodging option in the Cave Run Lake area is preparing to open its doors later this spring, offering visitors another way to experience the region’s outdoor setting.

“The Edge – Cave Run’s Glamping Getaway,” located along the Licking River just outside of Cave Run Lake, is scheduled to officially open May 15. According to information provided, the site features eight themed units, including geodesic dome-style structures and teepee-inspired accommodations.

The property is situated near several popular outdoor recreation areas, with access to activities such as boating, fishing, hiking, and exploring the Daniel Boone National Forest. Organizers say the goal is to provide an alternative lodging experience that blends outdoor surroundings with modern amenities.

Owner Pam McGlone said the concept was designed to offer visitors a different type of stay compared to traditional lodging options, with an emphasis on relaxation and connection to nature.

An opening-day schedule has also been announced. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is planned for 12 p.m. on May 1, followed by a grand opening event from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. that evening. The public is invited to attend.

The addition comes as tourism activity continues to grow in the Cave Run Lake region, bringing new accommodations and attractions to the area.
