MOREHEAD, Ky. — State Representative Richard White (R-Morehead) has received an endorsement from the National Rifle Association's Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF), along with an “A” rating reflecting his record on Second Amendment-related issues.
White, who represents Kentucky's 99th House District, announced the endorsement Wednesday evening in a Facebook post as he campaigns for reelection in the November 3 general election.
“I will always be an unwavering defender of our Second Amendment rights,” White wrote. He expressed appreciation for the endorsement and the organization's favorable assessment of his legislative voting record.
The NRA-PVF's official 2026 Kentucky candidate guide confirms White's endorsement and “A” rating.
What the NRA's “A” Rating Means
The NRA Political Victory Fund is the political action committee of the National Rifle Association, one of the country's most prominent gun rights advocacy organizations.
The committee evaluates candidates based on their positions and records concerning firearms ownership and Second Amendment protections.
According to the organization, an “A” rating identifies a candidate who has supported NRA positions on significant legislative votes or otherwise demonstrated a strong record of support for Second Amendment issues.
The organization's highest rating, “A+,” is reserved for lawmakers who have demonstrated additional efforts to promote and defend gun rights.
The NRA-PVF states that its candidate evaluations focus exclusively on firearms-related issues rather than a lawmaker's entire legislative record.
The endorsement represents the organization's preference in the upcoming election and is not an official government recognition.
White Seeking Reelection in November
White, a Morehead businessman who has served in the Kentucky House of Representatives since 2020, is seeking another term representing District 99, which includes Rowan, Morgan, and Elliott counties.
He faces Democratic challenger Iva Markicevic Daley in the November 3, 2026, general election.
The endorsement comes during the final weeks of the election campaign, as candidates across Kentucky seek support from voters and political advocacy organizations.
White serves as vice chairman of the House Natural Resources and Energy Committee and is a member of the House Small Business and Information Technology Committee and the Tourism and Outdoor Recreation Committee.
Latest in a Series of Recognitions
The NRA endorsement follows recent recognition of White by Americans for Prosperity–Kentucky, which highlighted his efforts involving housing policy and taxpayer-related legislation.
Earlier this month, the organization recognized him as a “Taxpayer Defender” for his legislative record. He subsequently announced a separate “Policy Champion” recognition for his work on housing issues.
Unlike those policy recognitions, the NRA endorsement specifically expresses an organization's support for White's reelection campaign.
The NRA-PVF publishes its candidate ratings and endorsements at NRAPVF.org.
