GRAYSON, KY — Olive Hill country music artist Tristen Moore added another accomplishment to his growing musical résumé Saturday, October 31, capturing first place in the “Scary-oke” singing competition held during Grayson's Octoberfest 2026 celebration.
The competition, part of the community's Halloween festivities, featured contestants competing for cash prizes. Moore took home the top honor, along with an undisclosed cash award.
For Moore, the victory represents another milestone in a musical journey that began with karaoke competitions and has gradually evolved into aspirations of a professional country music career.
Although Moore is now working to transition away from the karaoke circuit and focus on live country music performances, those early competitions have played an important role in developing his talents.
Through numerous appearances and competitive performances, Moore has gained stage experience, developed his vocal abilities, and attracted a growing following throughout Eastern Kentucky and the surrounding region.
His musical style emphasizes traditional country music, an approach reflected in his promotional slogan, “Real Country. Real Life. Real Music.”
Moore has continued pursuing opportunities to expand his audience and establish himself as a professional entertainer.
Saturday's first-place finish demonstrates that while his musical ambitions extend well beyond singing competitions, the experience and success he has enjoyed on those stages remain an important part of his story.
For Moore, the ultimate goal is not simply winning competitions, but building a lasting career in country music.
The Octoberfest victory adds another achievement to that ongoing journey.
