MOREHEAD, Ky. — The Rowan County Fiscal Court has released the first group of county roads scheduled for paving as part of this season's road improvement program.
County officials noted that these roads represent some of the projects planned for this paving season and are expected to be among the first completed. An additional list of roads scheduled for resurfacing is expected to be released next month.
The initial paving schedule includes:
CR-1449 Hallwood Drive – Beginning at the intersection of CR-1346 Logan Hollow and extending approximately 0.9 miles to the Morehead city limits.
CR-1224 Bluestone Road – Beginning at the county maintenance facility near Kroger Drive and extending 2.0 miles to the intersection of KY-3319 (Skaggs Road).
CR-1045 Dry Branch Road – Beginning at the intersection of KY-377 (Cranston Road) and extending 1.04 miles east.
CR-1312 Mellwood Lane – Beginning at the intersection of KY-377 (Cranston Road) and extending 0.5 miles to the end of the roadway.
CR-1413 Meadowlands Drive – Beginning at the intersection of CR-1312 Mellwood Lane and continuing approximately 0.5 miles, covering the full loop back to CR-1312.
CR-1126 Trent Ridge Road – Beginning at the intersection of KY-32 (Christy Creek Road) and extending 2.7 miles to the junction of Laurel Road and J. Trent Cemetery Road.
CR-1012 Brineger Road – Beginning at the intersection of KY-32 (Christy Creek Road) and extending 1.3 miles to the Rowan County line.
In addition to the paving projects, Fiscal Court officials announced that the Rock Fork Bridge project has been awarded for construction. Motorists can expect crews to begin building a temporary bypass in the coming weeks as work on the bridge gets underway.
Drivers are encouraged to use caution when traveling through active work zones, watch for construction equipment and workers, and allow extra travel time where delays may occur.
