Young athletes across Rowan County will soon have the opportunity to sharpen their football skills and learn directly from the Rowan County Senior High School football program during the upcoming “Little Vikes Football Camp.”
According to information released by Rowan County Schools and Vikings Football, the two-day camp will take place Thursday and Friday, June 4–5, from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. each day at Rowan County Senior High School.
The camp is open to boys and girls entering 2nd through 8th grade and will be coached by Rowan County Vikings Head Football Coach Allen Harris and staff.
Camp organizers say participants will receive instruction in:
Ball handling drills
Basic football fundamentals
Speed and agility training
Position-specific drills
Competition drills
Team-building exercises
The cost to attend is $50 per camper. Discounts are available for siblings, and each additional camper may attend for $40.
Parents can register online through the Rowan County Vikings Football Facebook page, in person at the Rowan County Senior High School front foyer on May 29 from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and May 30 from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., or on the day of the camp itself.
The flyer also notes that payments can be made through Venmo using the “Vikings Football Battle Fund” account.
The camp marks the first “Little Vikes Camp” hosted under Coach Harris and is designed to help introduce younger students to the fundamentals of football while building excitement for the future of the Rowan County Vikings program.
