SALT LICK, Ky. — Several members of the Salt Lick Fire Department were recently recognized for their dedication, commitment, and years of service to the community during a special recognition ceremony held alongside firefighters from neighboring departments.
According to the Salt Lick Fire Department, members received Certificates of Appreciation in recognition of their service, while thirteen individuals were awarded the prestigious Kentucky Colonel Award, the Commonwealth's highest honor for noteworthy accomplishments and service.
Among those receiving the Kentucky Colonel distinction were seven members of the Salt Lick Fire Department, a reflection of the department's long-standing commitment to protecting the residents of Bath County and the surrounding area.
Department officials noted that the honored firefighters have collectively devoted more than three decades of service to their communities. Their contributions include countless hours spent responding to emergencies, participating in training exercises, maintaining equipment, and assisting citizens during times of need.
"These dedicated members have collectively served our community for more than 30 years, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to protecting and serving others," the department stated. "Their countless hours of sacrifice, training, and service have made a lasting impact on the citizens we serve."
The Salt Lick Fire Department also used the occasion to recognize the contributions of all firefighters who continue to answer emergency calls and serve their communities whenever needed.
The department expressed its gratitude to the award recipients and to every firefighter who dedicates their time and effort to public safety across the region.
