OWINGSVILLE, Ky. — Customers of Salt Mine Café in Owingsville will have a few more days to visit before the popular restaurant temporarily closes its storefront for the fall festival season.

The café announced it will close its Owingsville location from August 10 through November 1, 2026, while the owners travel across Kentucky operating their food booth at fairs and festivals.

Rather than opening and closing the restaurant on varying days throughout the season, the owners said they felt it would be less confusing for customers to keep the café closed during that time. They plan to regularly post their festival schedule, locations, and parking information on social media so customers can find them while they're on the road.

Before the temporary closure begins, Salt Mine Café is offering several limited-time specials this week, including:

  • Lamb Chops (three meals available) – $18 with two sides

  • T-Bone Steaks (two meals available) – $15 with sides

  • Ribeye Steaks (six meals available) – $15 with sides

  • Ice Cream$1.50 per scoop

The café is also featuring a Crème Brûlée Ice Cream Cone, made with a waffle cone stuffed with chocolate or vanilla crème brûlée, topped with your choice of ice cream and finished with caramel.

Customers are encouraged to stop by before August 10 or watch the café's social media pages for updates on where they'll be serving throughout Kentucky during the fall festival season.
