MOREHEAD, Ky. — Kentucky State Representative Richard White recently welcomed members of the Morehead State University Men's Basketball team to his annual summer cookout, continuing a tradition of recognizing the student-athletes before the start of the upcoming season.

In a post shared on social media, White said he and his wife, Valerie, were honored to host the Eagles and praised the team for its character both on and off the court.

"We're blessed to have such a humble, hardworking, and talented group of young men representing Morehead State University," White wrote. "I can't wait to see all they accomplish this season."

The annual gathering brought together players, coaches, family members, and supporters for an evening of food and fellowship. White also thanked local photographer and drone operator Skylar Dickerson of Little Sandy Dronography for documenting the event with photos and aerial imagery.

The Morehead State men's basketball program has been one of the Ohio Valley Conference's most successful teams in recent years, making multiple postseason appearances and continuing to build on its tradition of success.

White closed his message with a simple show of school spirit:

"Go Eagles!"

The cookout serves as an opportunity for the local community to welcome the team and offer encouragement as the Eagles prepare for the 2026–27 basketball season.
