Additional information has emerged following Saturday evening's law enforcement response to an incident at a Ramey-Estep service location.
Ramey-Estep Re-group issued a statement Saturday night saying that information circulating on social media "does not accurately reflect what occurred" and emphasizing that the situation was resolved quickly and that all clients and staff are safe.
Following that statement, Tri-State Scanner Network issued a response defending its reporting. The scanner service stated that the information it published came directly from dispatch traffic and radio communications monitored by its staff.
According to Tri-State Scanner Network, the initial dispatch advised responding units of a fight in progress at the facility. The caller reportedly described the incident as a "riot" and stated that bottled water and fire extinguishers were being used as weapons.
Scanner traffic later indicated that three individuals had been detained and that the situation was under control.
At this time, neither Ramey-Estep nor law enforcement officials have publicly released additional details regarding the exact nature of the incident, whether any injuries occurred, or whether criminal charges are expected.
The Morehead Minute has requested additional information from the involved agencies and will provide updates as they become available.
