MOREHEAD, Ky. — A Tennessee man was lodged in the Rowan County Detention Center early Sunday morning following an arrest by the Morehead Police Department.

According to information published by the Rowan County Detention Center, Matthew Oles, 40, of Spring Hill, Tennessee, was booked into the facility at approximately 1:42 a.m. on August 9, 2026.

Oles is listed as being charged with:

  • Assault, 4th Degree – Domestic Violence – No Visible Injury

  • Alcohol Intoxication in a Public Place – 1st & 2nd Offense

Detention center records list the Morehead Police Department as the arresting agency. The case was listed as open at the time the information was obtained. A $1,500 surety bond was also shown in the detention center's case information.

No additional information regarding the circumstances surrounding the alleged domestic violence incident was immediately available from the detention center records.
