FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. (April 24, 2026) — Drivers across northeastern Kentucky should expect delays beginning Monday, April 27, as bridge inspections get underway throughout District 9.

The inspections will require temporary lane reductions in multiple areas, with traffic being merged into a single lane in some locations. Motorists are encouraged to watch for signage, slow down in work zones, and stay alert for workers and equipment.

Counties impacted include Boyd, Greenup, Nicholas, Bath, Fleming, and Rowan.

📅 Inspection Schedule & Locations:

Monday (4/27):

  • US 23 near Cecil Robbins Avenue (southeast of Portsmouth): Rotating single-lane closures

Tuesday (4/28):

  • US 23 over Tygarts Creek (southeast of Portsmouth): Shoulder closure

  • Armco Road/Nauln Street area (Ashland): Lane closure near shopping district

Wednesday (4/29):

  • US 68 over the Licking River (Nicholas County): Single-lane closure with flaggers

  • KY-11 over the Licking River (Fleming County): Shoulder closure

  • KY-1325 over Flat Creek (Bath County): Single-lane closure with flaggers

Thursday (4/30):

  • I-64 (eastbound & westbound) near Bull Fork Road/Bull Fork Creek (west of Morehead): Lane closures

  • I-64 (eastbound & westbound) near Slate Creek (west of Owingsville): Lane closures

Friday (5/1):

  • I-64 (eastbound & westbound) near Kendal Springs Road/Slate Creek (west of Owingsville): Lane closures
