The search for 19-year-old Marly Kinney of Ashland has been temporarily suspended because of approaching storms, according to a report by WSAZ. Officials emphasized that the search has not been called off and will resume when conditions allow.

Search efforts have now entered their third day. Crews continue to focus their efforts on the water using a variety of specialized resources, including Kentucky State Police aerial support, drones, boats, K-9 teams, sonar equipment, and underwater search technology. Earlier Friday, officials said intermittent rain had already made search operations more difficult.

Marly's family released the following statement through WSAZ:

"We are very appreciative of the absolute surplus of support from law enforcement, search and rescue, 1st responders, and all of the community and its volunteers that are here with us and for us searching for Marly. We do not even know how to express our absolute gratitude to you all. We continue to have faith she will be found and brought back to us. We know we have the very best people doing all they can to bring her home."

Anyone with information that could assist investigators is urged to call 911 immediately.

The Morehead Minute will continue to monitor this developing story and provide updates as additional verified information becomes available.
