West Liberty City Council member Grant Sorrell has officially announced that he is running for Mayor of West Liberty in the upcoming November election.
Sorrell made the announcement Thursday in a social media post, thanking the citizens of West Liberty and Morgan County for their support during his time serving on the city council. He said his previous two terms in office have been “a great experience helping our citizens of this great town.”
Sorrell currently serves on the West Liberty City Council and was also a candidate in the 2024 city council election.
His announcement officially sets the stage for what could become one of the more closely watched local races in Morgan County this year, as voters prepare to decide who will lead the city into its next chapter.
