A young performer from Clark County is turning his admiration for the King of Rock and Roll into opportunities on a national stage.

Domenic Bernal, a student at George Rogers Clark High School in Winchester, has gained attention for his Elvis Presley tribute performances, bringing the legendary entertainer's music and stage presence to audiences across the region.

According to Bernal, his interest in Elvis began several years ago after watching footage of Presley perform. What started as simple curiosity quickly grew into a passion for learning the music, mannerisms, and performance style that made Elvis one of the most recognizable entertainers in history.

Although Bernal describes himself as naturally quiet offstage, he says performing in front of an audience allows him to step outside his comfort zone. Since discovering his love for entertainment, he has appeared at a variety of events and venues, building a growing following among Elvis fans and music lovers alike.

Among his performances have been appearances for senior living residents and community events, where audiences have responded enthusiastically to his tribute act. Family members say his initiative and dedication have played a major role in his success, including personally arranging some of his own appearances.

Bernal's growing reputation recently earned him an opportunity to compete in the 2026 Tupelo Youth Elvis Tribute Artist Competition in Tupelo, Mississippi—the birthplace of Elvis Presley. The competition brings together young Elvis tribute performers from across the country and represents one of the most recognized events for aspiring tribute artists.

While Elvis tribute performances remain a major focus, Bernal's ambitions extend beyond honoring the King of Rock and Roll. He has expressed interest in pursuing a broader music career and hopes to eventually perform and record music of his own.

The Morehead Minute has reached out to Bernal in hopes of conducting a full feature story about his journey, influences, and future plans. We are currently awaiting a response and hope to share more about this talented Kentucky performer in a future edition.
