A Morehead man was arrested early Wednesday morning on a domestic violence-related charge, marking the third reported domestic violence arrest in Morehead and Rowan County in the past three days.
According to the Rowan County Detention Center, Kevin T. Jones, 60, of Morehead, was booked into the detention center at approximately 2:35 a.m. on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, following an arrest by the Rowan County Sheriff's Office. The detention center lists Jones as being held on a charge of:
Assault, 4th Degree (Domestic Violence) – Minor Injury
Jail records indicate the alleged offense occurred on July 28, 2026, with the arrest taking place the following day. As of publication, the case remains open, and no bond amount is listed in the detention center records.
This is the third domestic violence-related arrest reported in Morehead and Rowan County since July 27. The Morehead Minute previously reported the arrests of Chelsea Prater on July 27 and Johnny E. Skaggs on July 28.
While three arrests in three days do not necessarily indicate a long-term trend, the recent string of domestic violence cases serves as a reminder of the continuing impact these incidents have on individuals, families, and the community.
